ORSP staff are working remotely but are available to assist as usual. Although we do not expect any disruption in proposal submissions, communication via email, lack of immediate access to hardcopy files, and other factors may reduce operational efficiencies and response time. Researchers are asked to be aware of this possibility and provide longer lead-time pertaining to grant proposal development, etc.
Staff will be monitoring communications from federal agencies, other sponsors, and WFUHS. Any notices and information will be posted to this site as they becomes available.
Human Research Protections
WFU IRB operations will continue normally.
- CITI modules and requests for new eIRB accounts are available online.
- Applications in eIRB can be created, submitted, reviewed, and approved electronically as always.
- IRB meetings will be scheduled as needed and held remotely.
Please see this page for specific COVID-19 guidance for research involving human participants.
Please review the approved data confidentiality and security plan for your research studies. It is essential that you and your team members fully comply with the plan when working remotely or on campus. Contact infosec@wfu.edu for assistance. An application amendment is required if you need to revise your plan.
Your approved research protocol may require revision to comply with the University’s COVID-19 research guidance. Examples include replacing in-person interactions with safer online methods or altering in-person procedures to reduce density in the research setting to ensure adequate social distancing. The IRB Staff and Board are ready to process your application amendments in a timely manner.
Our staff is available to assist via email, phone, or video conferencing. Contact us at irb@wfu.edu.
